Sewing is my favorite!
I started sewing about 15 years ago while pregnant with my youngest child. I started out making very simple "rag" style quilts, I didn't think I'd ever progress further than that. Rag quilts are simple because they don't usually require much precise sewing. The more quilts I made, the more my skills improved. I progressed to regular pieced quilting and more complex "paper-pieced" quilts. The problem was that quilting is a rather expensive hobby. I tried selling quilts but I really only ever made enough to cover the supplies. I transitioned into making aprons and bags, which are my favorite thing to make, especially aprons. When Covid-19 hit and masks were needed by frontline workers and ppe were in short supply I started making masks. First it was to donate and then friends and family needed them and word got out that I made masks. I decided to turn it into a business because I realized this was a way that I could help add to the family income. It has been such a blessing to be able to do something I love and to help other people. I do my best to keep my costs low and I try to donate at least one mask for each one sold. I also have kits available for people who would like to help with the donation effort. If you would like a kit, they make at least 10 masks, I ask that you donate at least 10 masks from the kit and the rest are yours to do with as you will. Please contact me for more information.
